Dave & Buster’s Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLAY) continues its upswing of economic optimism. The entertainment and dining venue giant announced that a new Member has joined its Board of Directors and Audit, Finance and Compensation Committees. The appointment of James Chambers to these roles went into effect December 22, 2020.
James Chambers is the Co-Founder and Partner of Hill Path Capital, along with Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Scott Ross. Mr. Ross has stewarded a vested career in the investment fields of hospitality, entertainment, and financial services. Previously, Mr. Ross handled many private equity and debt investments in these areas as a Partner at Apollo Global Management, Inc. Mr. Ross has also served on the Board of Directors for other well-known entertainment companies, including Great Wolf Resorts, Inc. and Diamond Eagle Acquisition Corp.

The strategic move aims to strengthen Dave & Buster’s market relationships. Stephen M. King, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dave & Buster’s, had previously noted that Hill Path Capital “is one of our largest and most engaged shareholders,” and mentioned that he looked forward to working together “to build long term value for all of our stakeholders.”

Scott Ross is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. Additionally, Mr. Ross is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Hill Path Capital. Mr. Ross previously served as a Partner at Apollo Global Management. Mr. Ross previously served as Director of Great Wolf Resorts, EVERTEC, Inc., and CEC Entertainment, Inc. (the parent company of Chuck E. Cheese’s). Mr. Ross graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in Economics from Georgetown University.
