Feminism does seem to have gone a bit bonkers in recent years but there is still always a good time to celebrate women who are representing was it means to be a modern woman. Today I am going to focus on an old schoolfriend of mine Michelle Marquez, who currently works in the legal side of the stock exchange. Michelle is the perfect example of a superwoman, she is a mother to 2 beautiful boys, she she is a manager within her firm and she always looks in great shape and dresses immaculately. Michelle has always been the same since we studied law together and the reason why I believe that she is a perfect representation of a strong woman is because she can do it all, despite the challenges.
Women on the Stock Exchange
Michelle was one of the first women who worked on the stock exchange in any capacity and whilst now we se women working for the securities commission, the fraud prevention team and i arbitration, this was far from the reality when Michelle first started out. In fact i can attest to some of the cruelty, ridicule and sexism which Michelle faced during her early years on the stock exchange, which she managed to brush off with thick skin and a sharp attitude.
Not Content
Michelle Marquez has never been content with being complacent or comfortable and she has always tried to keep on pushing and getting the most out of every opportunity which she has. It is for this reason that she is so widely respected in her industry and why she holds the position of power that she does. Michelle is very ambitious and will always reach for the stars in everything that she does.
Motherhood
Many people debate as to whether a woman should choose a career or becoming a mother but in fact there are many people just like Michelle Marquez who have decided to have their cake and eat it. Michelle is an amazing Mum to her boys, she is very present and between her and her husband they have watertight schedules which means that there is always enough time in the day to be a great parent, regardless of what is going on at work.

As far as I am concerned Michelle’s greatest strength lies in her ability to be present in a particular situation and focused on what is going on. When she arrives home from work she is able to leave the office at the door and bring none of that stress or anxiety into the home. Equally when she gets to work she instantly flips the switch on for work mode, and nothing from the outside world can affect it. This ability to switch yourself into different modes and be entirely focused is a great skill to have and it is yet another reason why Michelle has found so much success in her life.
