Benefits if Buying Hand Forged Fireplace Tools

September 18, 2020 by Ian Leave a Comment

If you have a fireplace at home then you will know that it is something which offers much more than just warming a room. A real fire creates a certain mood in the home, it offers a comfortable and cosy setting and the sights, smells and even the sounds of a fire really evoke a lot of emotions. Those who have a fireplace will know the importance of having tools for the fire and accessories such as screens and a gate, as well as a classic set of fireplace tools. When you select which the right ones are for you, some hand forged fireplace tools should be the first type that you check out, and here is exactly why.

Character

Very often you will find fireplace tools which are made with polished brass or something like this and whilst that can look quite nice, it does lack a certain character. Hand forged tools on the other hand really help to set off a theme and they will look amazing next to the fireplace itself. Often these are made using more rugged metal and color choices and that gives off a real feel of olde world style.

Craftsmanship

In so many industries now we are losing that amazing craftsmanship which so many once took for granted, and this is the same in the fireplace tools industry. It is of course far easier to mass produce these items with machines in order to make more money and sales. With this being said however, to be able to offer someone a tool like this which has been forged by and ensures that you get that high-level of craftsmanship. Just looking at and handling these pieces feels so much better than those mass produced pieces which you can find.

Durability

It is not just the look of these tools that is better when they are hand crafted, they are also far more durable than their mass produced counterparts. This is down to a number of factors but mainly you are talking build quality and that is why they can be used time and time again without changing color or without chipping or breaking.

Custom Made

And finally you can get hand forged fireplace tools which are made just to your taste and to the size that you are looking for. Some of us have hearths which are deeper or taller than others and that calls for the right sized tool in order to properly manage the fire once it has been lit. You can discuss your individual requirements with the makers of the tools and they will be able to produce something which not only looks amazing and lasts a lifetime, but also something which will be to your own individual taste, style and functionality.

It may seem like an easier choice to simply go to the store and buy the first tool set that you see, but for an optimal experience it is far better to go down the hand forged route.
