How to add a wow factor to your garden

November 27, 2020 by Ian Leave a Comment

Some may say, what’s the point in having a garden if it isn’t an asset to your home? If you believe this, but you don’t know where to begin in creating a garden that is simply amazing then this article will give you a few pointers of where to start and the type of things that make a garden look incredible.

Have a perfect lawn

The thing that most people notice first when looking at a garden, is the lawn. A perfect vibrant green lawn pretty much makes a garden look perfect. However, you may be wondering how to achieve a perfect lawn and what’s involved? A natural lawn needs plenty of TLC in order for it to thrive and look its best.

Whilst achieving a perfect looking lawn may be easier said than done, there are other options that will give a perfect lawn look without all the hassle. This is where artificial grass comes into play. Grass Warehouse in particular offers a wide range of natural looking artificial grass, even if the perfect look isn’t for you, there are some variations of artificial grass in which they offer that has imperfections to make it look like genuine imperfect grass.

Landscape your garden

Landscaping definitely can give a garden an instant wow factor, the hardest part being having an actual feesible design in mind. Not to worry, if you struggle to envision the type of landscaping in which you want to create in your garden, then social media platforms such as: Instagram, Pinterest and even most recently TikTok offers plenty of outdoor design inspiration. A current landscaping design favourite, is when gardens have a minimalistic theme. In this case less is more and neutral colours are always used within the design. Japanese style gardens have also proven to be a hit in British gardens, because of its delicate simplistic oriental beauty.

Add a swimming pool or hot tub

A swimming pool adds a wealth to an outdoor space. When most people dream of their perfect home, they almost always see a big pristine swimming pool in their garden. If you are really looking add a wow factor to your garden, then this is an amazing feature to consider.

However, a swimming pool isn’t in most people’s price range and it can take a very long time for a swimming pool to be installed and if it’s an outdoor pool it will need to be heated, so this is another issue that boosts the cost of owning one. This where a hot tub or Jacuzzi becomes the cheaper and sometimes even better alternative. Most hot tubs require zero installation, and some are even inflatable, so you can choose when and where you have your hot tub.

Use plants and flowers

Plants and flowers give an authentic beauty to a garden. If you are looking to create a garden that is memorable and is vibrant, then plants are a great way to ensure your garden has this appeal. However, it’s important to be aware of the types of plants that grow well on British soil and climate. Daisies, Roses, Tulips and Bluebells are good examples of outdoor flowers that grow well in our climate.

Have a social area in the garden

Gardens are to be enjoyed, if you are looking to use your garden to entertain guest and host parties, then why not create a designated social space for you and your guests to socialise in. A social space can be as simple as having a table and a few chairs, or you can go all out and have an outdoor bar or table tennis table for creating fun social activities.
