Influential Fashion Designers

May 25, 2020 by Ian Leave a Comment

Every industry needs leaders and innovators – someone to set standards and be extremely creative. Nowhere does this ring true than the fashion industry. There is that few that are the pillars of the industry and reach can also transcend fashion and spill over into music, art, and film. Their ideas and creations seep through to every aspect of the day to day life whether we know it or not. These influential fashion designers stand out because of the drive and determination to realize their vision and make it happen by themselves. Now its time to meet some of this bold few.

Coco Chanel

Need we say more… She gave us the “little black dress” and of course Chanel No.5. The French-born designer was a liberator of women as she moved away from traditional women’s fashion of the time such as the corset and introduced a more casual and chic approach to feminine style. She is seen as the benchmark for luxury and glamour. Her influence is still felt today, and she has become a true fashion icon to many.

Stella McCartney

After making her breakthrough with the Chloé brand in the mid-90s, Stella McCartney attracted a lot of admirers such as Madonna and Kate Moss. She then started her fashion line. She is also a lifelong vegetarian and is known for using ethically sourced materials such as vegan leather in her designs. She is also an ardent animal rights supporter. Her designs are considered extremely feminine and chic which appeals to a lot of her fans.

Vivienne Westwood

The British designer is to be thanked for dragging punk and new wave designs to the mainstream fashion industry – high fashion was never the same. She became by designing for a punk boutique in the 1970s and expanded her operations across the UK and them further afield. She also designed for the British punk band the Sex Pistols. She is also outspoken on issues such as nuclear disarmament, civil rights, and climate change.

Tom Ford

When Tom Ford took over Gucci in 1994, he led them in a new direction completely. He made them exciting, added a dash of retro and sensual. All this drove Gucci sales sky high. He then went on to create his brand. He also ended up dressing Daniel Craig in his James Bond movies. Ford also turned his hand to directing films, screenwriting, and producing movies. Oh, he is also a trained architect. However, he still holds considerable sway in the fashion industry.

The fashion industry and its designers have evolved throughout the years. We are sure to see many more icons emerge. Another example of an industry that has made great progress is the online gaming industry. One example is Spin and Win Casino Online. This online site has several slot games based on multiple themes and comes with innovative designs. You may check out the slots page where you will see many slot games with beautifully designed graphics and visuals.
