Refresh Your Home Decor for Summer on a Budget

June 30, 2023 by Ian Leave a Comment

With the warm weather and flowers blooming, it’s the ideal time to add a creative flare to your home. Upgrading your house’s décor is a fun summer project. And it doesn’t have to cost you a fortune.

You may even want to take a peek at your current budget to ensure you’re not overpaying on some necessities, like insurance. Freeway Insurance Reviews indicate the company is top in the business at delivering affordable insurance quotes. So, contact them to see if you can get better coverage and reduce costs.

Here are four ways you can spruce up your home on a budget:

1. Highlight and Accent

You don’t need to revamp an entire room to change things up. Adding an accent piece here and there can give the place the attention it needs.

Highlights are variations of accents. You can highlight parts of your home to make them stand out more. For example, if you have a large mantle in the living room, dress it up with an inexpensive cloth that matches the décor. You can create an arrangement on the mantle that matches the summer season.

2. Create a Focal Point

If your budget is limited, you can go all out and make a splash in one area. Create a focal point that is central to the home. For some people, this may be the living room; others may spend most of their time in the kitchen or a family room. Whatever room you choose, you can bring it to life with various items, like new window treatments, a painted wall, or an additional piece of furniture.

3. Add Visual Space

Do you have a room in your house that feels and looks small? Maybe you have a study, den, or bedroom that doesn’t have windows, so it feels closed in. You can make the room appear larger by using visual tricks. Lighter colors make things appear larger. You can paint the walls white or off-white to brighten and make the place look bigger.

Also, if you use dark or heavy curtains, replacing them with light-colored sheers will give the room a more spacious feeling.

Finally, you could consider using mirrors to lengthen the room’s appearance. If it’s a bedroom, you can install mirrors on closet doors.

4. Think Outside the Box

There is no set way to spruce up your house on a budget. Maybe you want to make an area more functional for remote work. You could design a section of a room to make it more comfortable for working. Or if you have young children around, you may want to create a kid-friendly play area. Use your imagination to add flare or functionality to your home.

Dive into Summer Home Decorating

The next step in decorating your home this summer is to make an affordable plan. After that, any little change is sure to “summer up” your home.
