How to Plan an Intimate Event During the Pandemic

September 21, 2020 by Ian Leave a Comment

It is undoubtedly not a good idea to go for any mass gatherings or large events during the pandemic, as it could potentially cause the virus to spread. Fortunately, there are ways to prioritise safety when it comes to planning an event, with the most obvious route being to plan an intimate event for a small gathering of people.

That said, it can still be somewhat challenging to host a smaller event, as even those with experience in getting the job done are likely to make big mistakes if they are not careful. Thankfully, a bit of preparation can go a long way, and it is more than possible to host a fantastic event – even for those who might not necessarily have the experience. Here are just a few ways to plan an intimate event during the pandemic.

Ensure that the catering is spot-on

One of the more significant advantages of only dealing with a small gathering of people is that you can go for a razor-sharp focus when it comes to catering. For example, it can be quite easy to figure out whether anyone has medical issues with certain types of food (such as allergies), allowing you to take steps to ensure that everyone enjoys the spread.

The ideal solution would be to go for your favoured plan when it comes to catering, while at the same time having a similar spread with healthier alternatives for those who might not be able to enjoy the regular catering. While such a thing might be challenging for a larger event, a small gathering is the perfect situation.

Get help from professionals

While event planning businesses have undoubtedly taken a hit due to the rise of the pandemic, many have weathered the blow to provide smaller events for those willing to work with them. Companies like Party Planners Oxfordshire can make even the smallest gathering feel fun and lively, as many such businesses can ensure that the event goes smoothly no matter the scenario. When it comes to event planning, you do not have to tackle everything on your own – the use of such companies is one of the best ways to get the job done.

Dealing with outdoor events

Indoor events are quite a bit easier to handle, as the only thing you have to worry about is the temperature. On the other hand, outdoor events require quite a bit more handling to perfect. For example, there is the issue of pest control to worry about in case you end up utilising an outdoor venue. There is also the potential of inclement weather causing issues, which is why many experienced planners have a backup plan.

Aside from the tips above, ensure that there is first-aid available as an added layer of security. While it can be somewhat overwhelming, the above tips are sure to provide everything an event planner needs to make sure that their gathering is a success
