Tips on Organising a Successful Charity Concert

May 1, 2019 by Ian Leave a Comment

Organising a charity event is a noble act since you are finding a way to make people feel entertained while using the proceeds for a good cause. It could be quite stressful though considering all the details that you need to consider. If you choose to hold a concert, it is even more stressful given the number of people you expect to be in attendance. These are some crucial tips to help you successfully organise the event.

Create a team

You cannot do the job alone. You need a team that will take care of the different aspects of the concert. Make sure that you gather people who have experience in holding a show or are dedicated leaders. The good thing is that these events are usually fun and exciting. It is easy for you to attract young leaders to take part.

Find the right venue

Depending on the people you expect to come and the stars you intend to invite to perform, you need to find the perfect venue. Some of the options are stadiums, parks, pubs, hotels, clubs and universities. Find out which of them is large enough to hold everyone in the same place and is affordable. You might also want to say that you are doing the event for a good cause, to get a discount.

Book the performers

Before anything else, you need to have the best people coming to perform. It is an excellent way to entice people to go and spend money on tickets. If the performers are boring, you cannot expect people to pay money to purchase tickets, even when they are for a good cause. Again, it helps if you tell the celebrities that you are doing the event for a reason, to get a discount or even a free performance. If you do not have big stars coming, you can host a battle of the bands and invite local performers to join.

Set ticket prices

You need to analyse how much the ticket prices should be. Consider all your expenses for hosting the event. Since it is for charity, you need to have enough money left to donate to the chosen organisation. Set a goal so that when you reach it, you know that you already have enough. Be careful not to place a high price tag on the tickets just to achieve your target as it could be too high, and you might end up turning people away.

Partner with production companies

You still need to set up the venue, find the best sound and lighting system, arrange the chairs, and many other things. To avoid stressing out, you’ll probably need help from event production companies. Talk to them about the details and allow them to come and help.

Promote the event

Once you are ready with all the details, it is time for you to promote the event. Let everyone know what will happen and use various platforms to send the message to your target audience. Do not forget to highlight the organisation that you are helping.
