To get some fresh air

Lawn bowling in Sydney is a fantastic way to get some fresh air. Thanks to our generally awesome climate, you can play outdoors year-round. Getting active in the fresh air is fantastic for your overall health. It not only improves your blood pressure and your heart rate but it also increases the amount of serotonin, the happy hormone, in your bloodstream. It increases the volume and function of white blood cells which helps fight illnesses and bacteria and it also gives you a good old dose of Vitamin D.

Lawn bowls are therefore fantastic now only for your physical health but also your mental and emotional wellbeing.

It’s gentle exercise

OK, so it’s not exactly high-intensity exercise, but that’s actually a good thing. Whether you’re retired and want some regular and gentle exercise, or just want something low-impact to compliment your gym routine, lawn bowls is a great option. In fact, lawn bowls is a great way to get active and burn calories without even realising it.

Lawn bowls involve plenty of walking back and forth which naturally burns calories. It also requires players to bend down to pick up balls, carry the balls and use large amounts of motor neurones to actually bowl. Whilst none of this feels particularly strenuous, it all adds up which makes lawn bowls a fantastic way to exercise without injury or exhaustion.

Conclusion

Lawn bowls is a fantastic game that can be played as casually or as competitively as you wish. If you just fancy something to get you out of the house to meet new people, then you can enjoy a social game. Or if you want to improve your skills and compete against other teams, you can do that too.

Whether you’re super competitive or relaxed and laid-back, lawn bowls is a gentle way to keep in shape. This low impact exercise is a great way of building and maintaining a physically healthy lifestyle whilst the fresh air and socialising opportunities are fantastic for your mental and emotional health too.
